Accessibility
Last updated: 31 October 2026
Letterbe should be easy to use for as many people as possible – the app as well as this website. We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.
What this website offers
- Large text: with the “Large text” switch at the top of every page (in the menu on phones). You can also zoom the page up to 400% without losing content.
- Light and dark: the page follows your device setting; use “Dark mode” to switch it yourself.
- Keyboard: everything works with the keyboard, with a clearly visible focus. A “Skip to content” link skips the navigation.
- Screen readers: clear headings, labelled regions and buttons, and descriptions for all images of the app.
- Contrast: text meets the level AA contrast requirements, in dark mode and in Windows contrast mode too.
- Calm display: if you have set “Reduce motion” or “Reduce transparency”, the page turns off its animations or glass effects.
Known limitations
- The images show the app in its German version with sample letters; their content is described in the alternative text.
- The app's legal texts are hosted on app.letterbe.de and are available there in 9 languages.
We tested the page ourselves (automated and manual checks, as of 31 October 2026). An external audit is still pending.
Accessibility of the app
Screen reader support, large text, read-aloud with follow-along, simple language and dark mode in the app are described in the app help.
